I have to manually turn off the power to the water heater and turn it back on to have it ignite. and I cannot find a thermocouple anywhere? Please help!!

Hello:  I'm guessing you have a power vent heater and those are a weakness in my education :?  Either someone else will jump in and give you a hand, or a call to technical help at Rheem is needed. http://waterheating.rheem.com/content/rheem/support/support_contacts.shtml

Hello:  A thermocouple is used when there's a standing pilot.  Sounds like your heater has a hot surface ignition, like a gas dryer, so there isn't a thermocouple.  There may be a flame sensor of some sort, but that's a different beast  ;)
