I have smelly water but it doesn't smell like sulfer. I have a charcoal filter and a softener and a U. V. light in front of the tank(feb. 08 ). The cold water is fine. I put one pint of Hydrogen Peroxide in and the smell and oder vanished right away. What more do I need ?

Hello:  There are a lot of specifics about your situation that I don't know, but in general, odor builds up in tanks that don't get much use.  Having a greater daily usage will likely reduce or eliminate odor.   It's an excuse to take long showers

This is the second time I have put something in the tank. The first time I used a cup of Chlorine. It lasted for about a month before I used the Hydrogen Peroxide. I had a State Water Heater before with no problem. There are just the two of us in the house . It is a 50 Gal. tank.
