Ok, I'm new to the forum and need some help deciding on what water heater to go with. Bradford White (model M240T6DS) or AO Smith (model ECT40). Please Help, Macman Last edited on Fri Oct 9th, 2009 03:26 pm by Macman |

Some of what is considered "better" depends on your needs and some is subjective, but I can say that the Bradford has a better FVIR system that will cause less trouble and can be reset with a button instead or replacing a part. Randy Schuyler

Actually the new A.O. Smith has taken a step backwards to nothing more than the standard untirol valve and a everyday thermocouple. Simplicity once again.

So very sorry, I should have specified electric, instead of just leaving it open to interpretation. My bad.

Hello: There are three things. In my order of importance, I'd put customer service, thickness of insulation and energy factor (EF). This is purely opinion Yours, Larry
