I contacted the sweeny corporation and they have directed my questions back to Larry. 1. Is the sweeny #290 set up for removal of anodes or is it just a torque multiplier, ie. pictures appear that there is an "arm" attached which braces up against a nipple? 2. Is a torque multiplier really designed to loosen parts?...my training was use a breaker bar to loosen and a torque mulplier to tighten only. Or perhaps shall I ask it this way, will instrument hold up to the demands of a service plumber? 3. Where can this item be purchased? Thank you for your time.

Larry modifies them by adding the arm. Without it, the tool is just a torque multiplier and not particularly useful on water heaters. It's primary value for us is loosening stubborn anodes in tight quarters without injuring ourselves. I had it for sale on the product page for awhile, but nobody seemed especially interested. I was also having trouble finding six-point sockets. Between the two things, I finally took it off the page. We could sell you one, but we'll have to think about the price. Randy Schuyler

I see this thread is 5 years old... Our company has been searching for a replacement of our Sweeney 290 anode tool. Are they still available?

Yes. Go to http://www.waterheaterrescue.com/pages/WHRpages/English/OrderPages/XCart/sales-through-XCart.html and order SKU26 from toward the bottom of the page. Randy Schuyler
