Today I was stripping a cabinet in the garage and the vapors must have tripped the fvir sensor.  I had the garage door open, must have not been enough circulation.  Anyway I discovered later the pilot light was out.  After being sure all vapors were clear I re-lit the pilot and all seems fine.  My Kenmore manual says if the fvir detects a vapor incident the heater must be replaced.  Is this true or is there a safety issue ? Any advice appreciated.
