Cold water entering tank and water heater works (heats water) but hot water does not flow to taps when turned on. Anybody have solution?

See if it has heat traps. Sometimes those stick shut. Other possibility is clogged piping. There is a Tanklet on the subject. Use the link at the top of the index page. Randy Schuyler

Are you using city pressure or 12vdc pump to deliver the water?

Thanks for your input. The problem was the stop valve (hot water line) at the rear of the tank where the hot water flows out of the tank into the hot water line. The valve is apparently designed to stop back flow into the tank from the hot water line when the system is winterized (one valve by-pass system). The valves' built-in spring (which allows the valve to open when hot water is required) had deteriorated and caused the stop valve to prevent water flow out of the tank. The replacement of the valve fixed the problem.

I was so thankful to see your solution. I experienced the same thing this weekend. I had no hot water heater issues last weekend, then this weekend, no hot water. I've searched the Atwood manuals, but there is no reference to a checkvalve, but, I suspected a checkvalve because I could not figure out any other way for no water to be exiting the water heater when water was entering it. Where did you find a replacement checkvalve? Where is it located exactly? I have a Winnebago RV and I'm assuming I'll have to find a way to get to the back of the heater to access this checkvalve.

Replacement parts (valve and washer) were obtained from an RV supply/repair shop. The valve is located at the rear of the tank, upper right hand corner (upper right corner looking at the tank from the back). Due to limited space I had to remove the tank inorder to use a large wrench to apply enough force to remove the valve. Good luck.

TinCup, Thanks so much for the help. The check valve was $6 from the RV camping center. On my RV, I had to extend the slide, then remove an access panel on the water heater compartment. It was easy access from there. One of the easiest fixes - once I knew what to do, thanks to you.
