In the recent past there have been occasions when the water temerature in the shower would be luke warm at best. The other morning I had to shower in ice cold water, wouldn't even get luke warm. Since that day the water temperature has become much hotter. I have a single handle shower control that I always had set around 10:00 for a comfortable water temperature. Now to shower in that same temperature range I set the control to 1:00. What's going on please ?

Hello:  It's in the heater or it's in the plumbing.  Do you get the same unhappy temperatures from other hot taps?  If so, it's the heater.  If not, it's likely the shower valve or a cross connection.  Do let us know ;)

Yours,  Larry
