 Is the fitting soldered or threaded? Either way, it might just need to be reworked. How deep was the water in the closet?

Also, go to Tanklets, using the link at the top of this page, and read Temperature/Pressure Relief Valves, especially relating to thermal expansion. You may not be quite finished dealing with pressure.
